A couple of weeks ago a company called Kiss Me Organics offered to send me a container full of organic matcha powder to review. Naturally, I couldn’t refuse.
Ever since making matcha macarons one year ago (give or take a day), I’ve fallen in love with matcha. In fact, the week after I made those matcha macarons, I made a chocolate and matcha entremet cake… with matcha macarons.
A few months ago I read the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? for English class. Sheep were only mentioned a few times. I was pretty disappointed because I was really looking forward to reading about electric sheep. Goats came up quite often though.
I ended up writing an essay on why the author chose goat ownership as a symbol for wealth. I really enjoyed the novel, and decided that acting like a character in the book for a few days would make for an interesting social experiment. I, of course, chose the goat.
I stumbled down the grey concrete steps past the barbecue and around the corner; walking toward the emerald grass, one hand holding an ice cream cone and the other clutching my camera. It was a hot spring day, unusually common this time of year in Toronto. It seemed that the weather was pushed a month forward: March showers brought April flowers.
The frosty treat was melting down the side of the cone, gradually approaching my fingers. Soon, the ice cream covered most of the cone in streaks of peachy-goodness. As the ice cream melted it revealed chunks of frozen peach and nuggets of cinnamon crumble.
